The bankers make money. Let us face it. They make money. I want to make money. That is not why I despise them. I don’t hate bankers ‘cause they make money.

What I despise about them, and many other people for that matter, is the inability to see what is wrong with society. The wrong we all created, and let us face it, the wrong we are nurturing.

We are trying to protect the very essence of what we did wrong over the past decades: The belief that we need to bring more money in than what we spend. The mathematicians and economists are so clever, aren’t they? They rule the waves, like Royal Britannia!

Now, listen. I do believe we should not spend more than our means and that is my point exactly. We should not spend more than our means, not in monetary terms, but in terms of our resources.

Use only what you need…

Let me rephrase that. I should use only what I need. I should not buy and consume purely because I want. Things should not matter because they are there, but because I need them to survive. On the next level I should share so other people can survive. Then we can enjoy life together, on the same level. Only then we can be free and only then we can truly be happy. Think about it.

In the end, it would be a sad lonely little planet if we worked our asses off to make money without being able to share it with others.

I have been looking forward to a generation of South Africans who live together in unison. South Africans who simply live together and tackle modern day issues as and when they arise without the burden of past generations and policies.

I cannot help to think that this is what Mr. Mandela had in mind, all those years through the struggle, all those years in prison, the few years as president and now in his retirement. I cannot help to think and hope.

However, now we have someone, a group of youths (read ANCYL) who is adamant to destroy this vision. The vision of South Africans who show a peaceful and understanding side and share what we have with those around us. That beautiful side of being human that brings us all together and make us understand each other, tolerate each other and make us want to discover each other.

Why does the ANCYL want to destroy this? Why do they want to live at war? It seems as if Julius Malema is trying his utmost best to rekindle this apartheid spirit, and to a certain extend he might be succeeding.

He is succeeding because people are listening to him. Regardless of what the ANC might think or say or how the media may portray him, he might be succeeding. Why?

If you are reading this and Julius Malema and the ANCYL is making the slightest sense to you, I beg you to reconsider.

Consider this.

A South Africa ending back in the dark ages of apartheid, a country where people from different backgrounds dislike each other for who they are. People who spend their time talking each other down, refusing to accept them for who they are. Who they might be. A country that does not allow people to blossom or afford a neighbour their place in the sun. Imagine that!

If you want that, if you like to hate and spew venom, then listen to him. Listen to Julius Malema. In the end you will find out that he was most probably only in it for himself. His own ego. His is not a long walk to freedom. It is but a short stumbling to defeat.

Now consider the ego of Nelson Mandela, consider his humility and his plan for all of us: Living in a unified country where we support one another. Supporting each other so we never have to be alone. Nurturing an environment where we can grow.

Do we want or need the ANCYL?

I trust my fellow South Africans. I trust ANC supporters. I trust you. Put down your weapons. The people of the struggle have let go of the hate, so why don’t you? Now is the time for all of us to stand together. Understand each other. Reject the apartheid hatred.

Reject Julius Malema.

Accept the South African destiny. Accept the plan that Mr. Nelson Mandela has for South Africa. Living together in unity and supporting each other. Do not allow an egoistic wannabe-leader to brainwash the next generation. Speak your mind.

Amandla!

A creative agency used so called “clean” advertising to promote a website for a car maker in 5 major cities in the UK: London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and Birmingham. The messages were spray painted on pavement sites with high-footfall using naturally collected rain water. These markings last for around two to three weeks and then simply fade away.

As many people have not seen this form of advertising before, it attracted more attention and people slowed down and took time to take it in. This already attracted more than 135,000 people to the website with over 3,400 people registering details to obtain more information in the future.

Be careful not to use scientific words for common conditions that are unfamiliar to consumers and never suggest that consumers should use certain products in excess.

If advertisers claim that products are guaranteed to work, they should have enough proof of these claims. So called “natural” products should not imply that they are effective or safe just because it excludes certain ingredients in common use.

Where there are medical claims, these claims should be backed up with sufficient evidence. These claims will be assessed based on the scientific knowledge available to the Advertising Standards Authority at the time of the claim.
